El Pinar de Campoverde
Pinar de Campoverde which translated means Pine Forest in or of the Green Field literally, is a village surrounded by protected pine trees and orange and lemon groves. It is a small village located at the foot of the Sierra de Escalona mountain range, It was developed in the mid 1980′s and is mainly populated by British and German expatriates. Every street and avenue in the village takes its name from a plant, herb or horticultural zone. Examples include Calle Bosque (Forest Street), Calle Lavanda (Lavander Street), Calle Meloncotonero (Peach Tree Street) and Calle Abedul (Birch Street).

To make life easier there is a regular bus service into the local town of Pilar de la Horadada, alternatively by car you can join the new A-37 Alicante- Cartegena Auto Route to access the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, which is only 10 km away.
The food in the region is a delight with plenty of Fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat and tapas for lunch.
You can walk the coast on miles of walking paths and the interior has hills, woodland and the Natural Park of Rio Seco meaning ‘Dry River’ This spectacular gorge was once a fast flowing river which is situated to the north-east of Pinar de Campoverde, this is an excellent place, There are walks here to suit everyone – from a gentle amble, to a more challenging hike and you can enjoy the many species of flora and fauna, there are a number of unusual species to enjoy including wild orchids and some rare varieties of dwarf palm. The landscape is amazing – a twisting maze of dried up streams meander through yellow sandstone cliffs. Near to Rio Seca is a fantastic new sports centre with numerous tennis and basketball courts, football pitches, and a large public swimming pool.
For the golf players among us then a property in Pinar de Campoverde would leave you spoilt for choice. Southern Costa Blanca is a golfing paradise, and Campoverde is near to several championship golf courses – Villamartin, Campoamor and Las Ramblas are about 15-20 minutes’ drive away, La Finca is about five minutes further and for an unforgettable day out try the La Manga club. The new 18-hole course at Lo Romero Golf is closest of all – 5 minutes away, in Pilar de la Horadada.

Pilar de la Horadada
Pilar de la Horadada is a town and district in the Province of Alicante, located in the southeast of Spain.
It has lots of interesting sights to see these include, The Parish Church of “Nuestra Señora del Pilar”, in the centre of the town and The Watch Tower built in the 15th century.
The town holds many festivals throughout the year like The Festival in honour of the Blessed Virgin, Which runs from the 29th September until the 30th October, and Summer festivals: 30 July just to mention a few.

The Blue Flags beaches of Pilar de la Horadada are spread along 5 kms. They are long with fine, white sand. These beaches are relatively safe places and swimming is permitted in mild conditions. Under the sea, you can see the marine biodiversity and the poseidonia. Las Higuericas and Mil Palmeras are 2 of the most popular beaches in the district. The real beauty of this can be seen via the live webcam they have running pointing over the view of the Harbour.
